The Control Flow Flocon DW-10 Subsea Fail Safe gate valves are available in a variety of sizes, trims, and pressure ranges up to 15,000 psi.
The DW-10 Subsea Fail Safe Gate Valve is a hydraulically actuated, balance stem valve intended for subsea drilling applications in water depths of up to 15,000 feet. The DW-10 stem design prevents fluid displacement in the valve body during opening and closing along with bi-directional sealing. These features prevent the valve from opening when line pressure is less than sea pressure, and allows several valves to be placed together in the same block or line without the possibility of pressure lock between the valves. All DW-10 subsea valves can be easily converted to an R.O.V. override configuration.
DNV CERTIFIED – ISO 9002 CERTIFIED - API 6A TESTED
DNV Certified testing performed hyperbarically with operating closing force on spring activated within 3 to 4 seconds with a full working pressure of 15,000 psi across the gate at time of closure.
(Certifications and testing procedures available upon request)
TECHNICAL MERITS:
- The exposed balance stem permits visual or remote monitoring of valve position.
- Operator control pressure is 1,500 psi minimum through 3,000 psi maximum.
- Valve can be made to fail in either the OPEN or CLOSED position with proper selection of controls and choice of regular or reverse bore gate.
- In the Flocon Type “DW” Fail Safe operator, the spring cartridge is pre-assembled and preloaded. The spring cartridge alone will close the valve against as much as 500 psi line pressure.
- Both the operator stem and the balance stem have redundant stem seals. The operator stem seals are vented by a stainless steel vent fitting to ensure that line fluid cannot invade the operating system.
- The balance stem has a smaller cross-section than the valve cavity, allowing the entire gate and seat assembly to be installed or removed from the bonnet side of the valve.
The operator is provided with a grease fitting for lubricating the valve cavity parts. There is an additional check valve which is threaded into the bonnet ahead of the grease fitting as an added safety feature. With this arrangement, the valve may be lubricated even when it contains the full rated working pressure.
